Last year the lovely people at Made.com got in touch to ask if I was interested in creating a small collection of pieces for their September 2018 collection. I didn't have to think twice! I love Made.com... their attention to detail, the affordability, the great design, the styling. And so began a dream project which ended up spanning shelving, mirrors, textiles, ceramics, clocks and prints.
Assembly is a collection which started life with the design and development of a modular shelf system which includes a memo board, magnets, brass framed mirror and plant/pencil pot. Bold foiled prints were next, inspired by the overlapping elements of the shelf and a colour palette that includes deep forest green, yellow ochre, blush pink, tomato red and charcoal grey.
We then created some extras to form part of the Assembly shelf. Our two powder coated wall clocks are super-simple with contrasting coloured hands and brass fixings and our two wall sculptures take two dimensional print ideas and blow them up in polished brash and powder coated metal.
Then it all got a bit crazy... the shapes and our abstract composition of form and geometry started to work its way into plant pots (a little bit like simplified terrazzo), mugs (bold patterns on clean white porcelain), teatowels (a set of three exploring scale and more pattern).
And so in September 2018 the Assembly collection launched at Made.com, with a few special new pieces arriving in October. If you'd like to shop the collection just click here.
